Paul Johnson is a nationally respected athletic leader known for producing detailed and thoroughly investigated athletic employment searches that are tailored to meet the needs and culture of each academic institution.
Prior to launching SportLinkUSA, Johnson was the founder and President of The Sterling Athletic Group (SAG). Before leading SAG, he had a successful 20+ year career coaching college basketball. While coaching, he successfully recruited talent from all fifty states and more than ten countries. Coach Johnson also established himself as an excellent X’s and O’s man and helped his team’s reach 9 post-season appearances. He was twice named National and Regional Coach of the Year and led his team to finish in the top ten in the nation in defense.
Johnson earned a Bachelor’s degree from Harding University and has been a member of USA Basketball and the National Association of Basketball Coaches; he has led teams and coaching clinics in Africa and Puerto Rico with Athletes in Action and has served as the head coach for the Uganda National men’s and women’s teams in Olympic qualifying events.
Johnson played his prep basketball at George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, Ky., and continued his playing career on the hardwood at Florida College in Temple Terrace, Fla. Johnson and his wife Laura have two daughters, Susannah and Lily Beth.
